Highly respected as a brass teacher and an ambassador for mental health and wellbeing, with an acute understanding of the challenges in the arts, and a positive collaborative approach to addressing these.

I have taught at the Royal College of Music (both senior and junior departments), the Royal Air Force Central Band and Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, where I am currently Head of Brass. I have given masterclasses and been an examiner at all the UK conservatoires, as well as many international institutions, including the Juilliard School, Boston Conservatory, Beijing Central Conservatory, the Sibelius Academy (Helsinki), Lisbon National Conservatory and Stellenbosch University.

My coaching experience includes the National Youth Orchestra of GB, the Catalan Youth Orchestra, Orlando Festival, the Soweto School of Music and I am regularly invited as an adjudicator, including for the Royal Overseas League and BBC Young Musician. I have led Continuous Professional Development (CPD) workshops for the UK Army, Marines and RAF bands.

Please get in touch to discuss your requirements, whether it is 1 to 1 tuition (in person in London or Birmingham, or via Zoom), ensemble coaching, workshops on the psychology of playing/ performance anxiety or CPD events for business using music.
